Brain trust. I’ve heard it before, but never put much thought into it. I know Pixar set this up from the very beginning, and it’s been said that it’s even part of their “secret sauce” on how they becamse so succesful. The action sounds simple enough. Get the top, most experienced and successful individuals who are the best at their craft, and have them help guide you in the project. They hold no weight on the decisions, but the director has a responsibility to hear what they ahve to say, and make the best informed decision from it. The only problem is finding the right people. Easier said than done. If we get to the point of having top artists in the world want to be part of the brain trust, then I can almost guarantee success. However I don’t see this happening by head hunting or recruiting. It would have to come by a personal connection they have by learning about our project.
